As a general reminder, please think carefully before you decide to put anything on the Internet. For example, if you voluntarily disclose user information in chat areas or bulletin boards (e.g., comments sections), that information could be seen and used by others and may result in unsolicited messages from others. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information or other user information you may choose to submit in these public forums. To request removal of your personal information from any of our publicly viewable forums, blog posts, or pages (when applicable), please contact us as provided below. In some cases, we may not be able to remove personal information voluntarily disclosed by you in such forums or pages for legal retention purposes or technical limitations (e.g., the data may not be searchable), in which case, we will notify you if we are unable to do so.
When you use the Site, your user information may be collected, used, and shared in a variety of manners. As detailed below, the type of user information collected may vary based on how it was gathered, but may include, among other things, your name, email address, and other information that you voluntarily submit (e.g., when registering for an account) such as name, business name, address, phone number, email, business information, and relevant industry), information automatically collected about your usage of the Site (e.g., the content that you choose to view), and information about you that our third-party partners may share with us if such third-party partners have previously received your consent to do so.
When you fill out registration forms, submit your resume, or provide us with other information actively, you will know what information we are collecting because you are actively submitting it. Because we change our offerings and features from time to time, the options you have to provide us with personal information also may change, but here are some examples of situations in which you may decide to provide personal information to us:
- Signing up for email alerts or newsletters;
- Registering for a business or consumer account;
- Submitting information to B4C as part of the business account approval process;
- Registering or paying for advertisements and sponsored listings;
- Signing up for community events; and
- Contacting us for technical support or customer service.
Depending on how you interact with the Site, the personal information we collect from you may vary. For example, to receive email alerts or newsletters we may ask only for an email address and name. In other circumstances, such as when you complete a form related to a particular service offering, we may ask you to provide other information, which may include your name, phone number, and address. On a voluntary basis, you may also decide to provide us more sensitive information such as payment information such as a bank account or credit or debit card number. You should not include sensitive data (such as, social security number, driver's license number, credit or debit card numbers) in any submission except where we specifically prompt you to provide such information.
When you use the Site, your device is automatically providing information to us so we can respond and customize our response to you. The type of information we collect by automated means may vary, but generally includes technical information about your computer, such as your IP address or other device identifier, the type of device you use, and operating system version. The information we collect also may include usage information and statistics about your interaction with the Site. That information may include the URLs of our web pages that you visited, URLs of referring and exiting pages, page views, time spent on a page, number of clicks, platform type, location data, and other information about how you used the Site. Automated means of data collection include the following:
- Web Browser. When you visit a DirectHERy website, your browser automatically sends us your Internet protocol (“IP”) address so that the web pages you request can be sent to your computer or device. We may use your IP address to determine additional information, such as whether the computer or device has ever been used to visit DirectHERy before, which DirectHERy features were used the most often, and how much time was spent on a page.
- Web Beacons and Log Files. We use “web beacons” (also known as Internet tags, pixel tags, tracking pixels, and clear GIFs) on our websites and those of certain of our job posting clients. These web beacons allow us and third parties to collect information such as the IP address of the device, the URL of the web page, the time the page was viewed, the type of browser used, and any additional information in cookies that may have been set by the third party. The information is typically collected in log files, which generally track traffic on our websites. We use this information for a variety of purposes, including the management of our online advertising by establishing which ads brought users to our websites. The information also is used for analytical purposes and to manage technical issues that may arise. We do not attempt to identify individual users through this information.
- Mobile Device ID. If you access or use the Site on your mobile telephone or other mobile device, including tablets, we collect mobile device identifiers and IP Address. We may create and assign to your device an identifier that is similar to an account number. We may collect the device type and any other information you choose to provide, such as user name, geolocation or email address.
- Mobile Analytics. We use mobile analytics software to allow us to better understand the functionality of our mobile software on your phone. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events that occur within the application, aggregated usage, performance data, and from where the application was downloaded. We do not link the information we store within the analytics software to any personally identifiable information you submit within the mobile application.
- Location Data. If you access the Site using a mobile device, we may collect your physical location if you have enabled this feature. Even if you are not using a mobile device, information about your general location may be discernable from your device's IP address or the URLs we receive.
We may receive information about your activity on and off the Site from our affiliates, advertisers, partners, and other third parties we work with. For example, if you attend a community event hosted by a business account holder that business will provide us with your identifying information and other data such as what products or services you sampled, tried, or purchased.

These third parties are prohibited from using your user information for any other purpose.
From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you, such as your name and e-mail address. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. We use this personally identifiable information to notify contest winners and award prizes. We may use a third-party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests; that provider will be prohibited from using our users' personally identifiable information for any other purpose. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest or survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice and choice.
Limited Service Third Party Providers
We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf including those handling the processing and delivery of newsletter mailings, processing transactions, or performing statistical analysis of our services. We will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service. In some instances, these companies may collect information directly from you. In these cases, you will be notified of the involvement of the external service provider. In all cases, these companies are subject to agreements that require them to maintain the confidentiality of your information and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.
Change in Site Ownership
In the event the ownership of the Site may change at some point in the future, we intend for the Site to continue to maintain a relationship with you. In the event of a sale, merger, public offering, bankruptcy or other change in control of DirectHERy, your information may be shared with the person or business that then owns or controls the site. Opting out of receiving information from third parties will not affect our right to transfer your information to a new owner, but your choices will continue to be respected regarding the use of your information. You will be notified as described below in “How will I know if the Privacy Statement is changed?”
As Required by Law
DirectHERy may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law such as to comply with a subpoena or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the law, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on us or to protect and defend our rights or property.
We care about the protection of your user information and use industry standard safeguards to do so. Of course, it's important to keep in mind that no data transmission on the Internet is guaranteed to be 100% secure.

We use industry standard physical, electronic, and organizational safeguards to protect your user information against loss or theft as well as unauthorized access and disclosure to protect your privacy. We treat data as an asset that must be protected against loss and unauthorized access.
